1.New Downtown of the City
With unique geography location, the new downtown of the city locates in the Yuhu peninsula on the west of the LianhuaStreet. where the south and north river of Rongjiang River (easternGuangdong golden waterway) meet and land-and-water transportation is convenient. The basic facilities of road, power supply, water supply and so on are getting is perfect. The construction of the municipal defense synthesis projects with its assistant municipal facilities, which is planned to be invested with 3 billion RMB, is being sped up. Jieyang culture center, the 29-km history and cultural corridor and the sewage factory will be completed by the end of Sep. 2008. The investment environment of the new downtown will further optimized. Now the new downtown, which is 50 sq/km and invested with 20 billion US$, is to be developed and built with the ideas of "exquisite downtown and landscape city". 2.Airport Economy Zone
Situated at the" tile golden triangle" of 3 cities of Chaoshan and the cross of Denggan town,
Paotai town and Didu Town, it covers an area of 190 sq/km and 60 sq/km land can be devel-
oped.It is near Shantou City on the east and boarder Chaozhou City on the north. It is close to
the downtown of ,Jieyang and extends to the towns of Quxi, Yujiao and Yunlu, etc.
3.SOUTH CHINA SEA (INTERNATIONAL)PETROCHEMICAL SYNTHESIS INDUSTRY PARK
Located at inshore district of the southeast of Huilai County, the industry park covers an area of 72 sq/km and is an important part of the petrochemical industry belt of 3 cities of Shantou, Chaozhou and Jieyang. With three greatest superiori-ties for investments of convenient land-and-water transportation, excellent piers and enough electricity supply, it has been listed into the important petrochemical bases of the eleventh 5-year plan of Guangdong. It is planned into pier warehousing zone, petrochemical developing zone, a center park, service center, fine chemicals zone and development zone for future industry.
4.Jieyang New-tech Development Zone
Located at the cross of the counties of Jiedong and Jiexi, covering the area of 66.7 sq/km of Saling state-owned farm, it is18 kilometers from the downtown and 14 kilometers from the exit and entrance of Jieyang-Puning Expressway and i9 kilo-meter from G206 highway. The geography of whole development zone is undeveloped hill land and the land resources here are abundant. Near the zone there are Longjing Reservoir Power Station. Dabeishan Reservoir Power Station and a 100000-ton waterworks. The water supply and electricity resources are very rich. the zone will mainly develop the industries ofmachine manufacturing, IT hardware, biological pharmacy, stainless steel, new material and environmental protection indus-try.
5.Industry Park of Puning Yingge Mountain
Located at Yingge mountain of Puning City, it is close to S236 highway on the east and Jieyang-Puning Expressway on the west. It is about 5 km from Shantou-Puning Expressway on the south and 2.5 km from the exit and entrance of Zhanmian highway and Jieyang-Puning Expressway.Covering an area of 133 square kilometers, it owns roughly plain hillside land,which makes investment cost very low. Now,the park is planned by the architecture institute of South China Science and Engineering University with the theme of “health, green, environmental protection”. 6.Jieyang Dananshan Industry Park
